Supporting Local Schools
Petersfield Rugby Club is keen to improve and expand on it's good relationship with the local schools that provide it's junior members.As part of this I have been tasked with the role of Schools Liaison Officer and my first venture was to invite the schools PTAs and "friends of " to join us on a Sunday to run a cake sale to raise funds for their school.
So far only Langrish have taken up the offer but we hope other schools will take advantage of the captive audience of hungry young people once the weather improves. I believe Langrish would say it was a worthwhile event after raising over £40 in the hour they were there. The goods, sweet and savoury, looked and tasted wonderful and were at pocket money prices. I think I may have been expecting too much to hope that the chocolate brownie would provide my boys with enough energy to clean their own muddy boots though!

Working in partnership with Rugby -4 -Fun
As a club we are working with Simon Dear from Rugby-4-Fun, a local company, to promote rugby to primary age children in order to provide as many young people as possible with the opportunity to try rugby. We hope that some of those attending Simon's out of school sessions will continue their foray into rugby by joining the club.

Rugby-4-Fun is headed by Simon Dear who has represented Harlequins, Middlesex, London Division, England 'A' and the Barbarians. He is also a fully qualified and highly experienced coach at most levels of the game and has been extensively involved in the organisation and delivery of rugby in schools for some considerable time.
Rugby-4-Fun delivers high quality coaching to young boys and girls up to the age of eleven years in a safe and enjoyable atmosphere in pre and after school club environments. It is committed to the introduction and promotion of this rapidly expanding and exciting derivative of the adult game, and since being founded is now delivering programs across a wide area of Hampshire .
- 10 weekly sessions, each session 1 hour in length
- After or pre school clubs
- Sessions to suit age and ability
- Fully qualified RFU Tag Rugby coaches
